Thomas Strentz, Ph.D.

Former FBI (20 years) Supervisory Special Agent, Behavioral Science Unit, Special Operations and Research Unit, and NCAVC. Professional anti-terrorism expert with a background in hostage situations, negotiations, instruction, and survival. Crime scene assessor and profiler. Conducted research worldwide for the FBI on terrorist activities. Responsible for much of the original research on the "Stockholm Syndrome," including the profiling of terrorist groups and individuals. Assisted in the development of a national strategy for the resolution of aircraft hijacking, including "The Common Strategy" training program. In addition to being an instructor, public speaker, consultant, author, and training film producer, Dr. Strentz has concentrated his academic and professional efforts on instructing persons in the physical and psychological tactics needed to survive hostage situations. Developed and refined the aircraft hijacker and terrorist profiles currently used internationally. Has investigated and negotiated kidnappings in South and Central America.
