Behavior, Truth, and Deception introduces Targeted Subject Interviewing, a process that begins with crime analysis and leads to a plan specifically targeting an offender’s psychological weaknesses. This approach adapts behavioral aspects of crime analysis and profiling developed by the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit. The result is an interviewing process that uses the offender’s own criminal behavior to construct an appeal to his thinking that will lead him to recognize the benefit of providing information to the interviewer.
