FBI-certified firearm and tool-mark examiner, specializing in microscopic examinations of bullets, cartridge cases and shotshells, firearms operability and function, accidental discharges, trigger pull analysis, shooting reconstruction, bullet trajectory analysis, gunshot residues, muzzle-to-victim distance determinations, shotgun shooting distance determinations, ejection pattern testing, and toolmarks in internal thefts, burglaries, break-ins and vehicular thefts. Extensive experience as an expert witness in state, federal, and military courts. Former FBI Academy faculty member and instructor in forensic science, crime scene search techniques, gunshot residue analysis, and advanced techniques in firearms identification. Adjunct Professor of Forensic Science at George Washington University in graduate level courses. Currently, forensic and training consultant with the FBI Laboratory and Washington Metropolitan Police Department.
