Criminal Investigative Analysis

Criminal investigative analysis, also known as criminal profiling, is a systematic methodology of using clues left at the crime scene to gain insight about the crime. Through criminal investigative analysis, experts can develop a personality profile, indirect personality assessment, and begin to understand the motivation for the crime.

Criminal investigative analysis is a proven science, and when conducted by trained examiners, the knowledge gained through criminal investigative analysis can stand up in court as expert eyewitness testimony. In a case where there are no living witnesses and the offender has gone out of his way to cover his tracks, expert eyewitness testimony can very well be what convicts a guilty perpetrator.

Criminal investigative analysis is the process of combining knowledge of behavioral sciences with the facts of the investigation. Investigators learn to look at the details of the crime in such a way that they can interpret criminal behavior with enough certainty to develop leads and provide expert eyewitness testimony in court. The level of the investigator's knowledge of criminal investigative analysis directly impacts the credibility of the expert eyewitness testimony in a court of law.

The Academy Group's Criminal Investigative Analysis course trains law officers on crime scene investigation, interview and interrogation techniques, terminology used in criminal investigative analysis, the details of expert eyewitness testimony, and many more concepts and skills. All of the Academy Group's consultants are former FBI agents, Secret Service agents, and special agents with a long history of experience with high-level expert eyewitness testimony and criminal investigative analysis.
